Ashley Madison Faces $760-Million Canadian Class-Action Lawsuit
Out of all the countries online Canada has some of the toughest anti-spam laws I’ve seen anywhere. One of the best dating websites ever created Pof.com is owned by a Canadian. But this recent hack of Ashley Madison shows the exact reason why companies go offshore to do business. Although Ashley Madison is being sued nobody talks about the hundreds of foreign owned dating websites located in Cyprus or China that do far worse than Ashley Madison. Furthermore it’s not like Ashley Madison purposely leaked people’s email addresses the bottomline is they were hacked and the hackers purposely leaked the profiles of married men.
Can hackers really be trusted?
I find it interesting that everyone is taking the hackers words at face value. Nobody questions anything and the media who loves this story (because Ashley Madison is an infidelity dating website) appears to write articles that favor the hackers as if these moral “HACKERS” are perfect, flawless human beings that don’t have their own agendas to control people’s lives.
Well now there’s a $760- Million dollar class action lawsuit and quite frankly I wouldn’t be surprised if the people won and all each individually get a check for $40 because we know at the end of the day the only people that profit from class action lawsuits are the lawyers. With that out of the way, what I want to say is in case people wonder why companies go offshore to do business this is one of them.
Ashley Madison never purposely gave out people’s email addresses nor did Ashley Madison sell people’s personal information. They were HACKED! furthermore I wouldn’t be surprised if they were hacked by foreigners or worse foreign competitors. I write a lot about offshore owned dating websites that purposely sell peoples private and personal information but people can’t sue those companies because they’re not in North America. Although Ashley Madison is being attacked I want to remind my readers that there are far worse elements online that can’t be sued and if Ashley Madison goes belly up or goes bankrupt don’t be surprised if a far worse unstoppable element replaces them.
Final thoughts regarding Ashley Madison and the $760 Million dollar Lawsuit
Well I personally will not be surprised if Ashley Madison loses this case and has to shell out $760 Million I’ve seen cases like this before I even heard of another one in Canada where I think a cigarette company had to pay nearly a billion dollars to “victims” even though the company warned people about the causes of smoking.
The courts will decide the outcome all I will say is I’ve been a long time advocate for Adult Friend Finder which when it started was a swingers dating website which is a bit different from a cheaters website. I’ve said over and over again that Adult Friend Finder which has been online since 1996 may not be perfect but it’s worked for me. A lot of women have signed up via my recommendation a lot of men have signed up too via the forums where I comment but I’ve never made any false claims nor have I guaranteed anyone anything because after all what dating website can guarantee results.
What I have said over and over is Adult Friend Finder is American owned and not only are they American owned but they operate from one of the toughest states to do business which is California. To keep the doors open Adult Friend Finder combined a variety of different dating and entertainment features to keep the community vibrant. The reason why I personally recommended Adult Friend Finder over Ashley Madison is the price and the flexibility. I’ve been a member of Adult Friend Finder since the 1999.
I’ve tried Ashley Madison I never called it a scam but I’ve never been a fan of theirs either. With that said based on the other sites I reviewed I’m glad that Ashley Madison is online rather than some of the other foreign owned scam dating websites circulating all over the internet.
Adult or sex based dating is a very tough business, if you read up on match.com and their advertising budget you’ll see why so many dating websites are located offshore and that’s what I’m fighting against. I don’t mind if a dating website located in CHINA operates in China exclusively nor do I mind if a dating website located in Cyprus operates in Cyprus.
But the wave right now is dating websites located in Cyprus or China doing business in the United States for example and they don’t have to adhere to U.S laws nor do they have to adhere to Canadian laws. So all I’m saying is don’t be surprised if Ashley Madison gets sued and is then replaced by some foreign owned company that does far worse.
