If you’re an American, there are certain Liberties and Freedoms you take for granted, such as wearing jewelry in public, using your smartphone in public, and wearing nice clothes or shoes, even in the worst parts of America.
In developed nations like Colombia, “the streets are watching,” as they say, and the rugged streets of Colombia speak “Broken Spanish,” “Spanish slang,” etc. If they recognize you as a foreigner, it’s “Open season,” as they say, and oh yes, I forgot to mention, the Police or the “Policia” in many parts of Colombia, have been known to have some corruption.
I want to make it clear tha there are some good people in law enforcement in Colombia, but there are also cops who don’t want to risk their lives for Americans doing things considered stupid by locals.

Colombian women, especially, are NOT easy, they’re not slutty, but yes, there are Colombian prostitutes, and just like prostitutes in the U.S., they will set you up to be robbed, and yes, they will help local gangsters with fraudulent dating APPs to tell you to meet them somewhere in Colombia to get you robbed.
This should be common sense, but I forget some in these younger generations have been coddled, and they confuse U.S. ghettos with Latin Ghettos. They’re two entirely different things; there’s little government welfare flowing through the rough streets of Colombia, unlike the U.S. in Colombia, if they DO NOT find a means to make money, they starve.
So the mentality is different; if you’re a stupid gringo walking around Colombia with an Apple Watch, iPhone, and expensive clothes, there might be several different local gangs arguing about who should rob you first, and the beautiful people in Colombia will justifiably imagine you as an idiot for not knowing this.
