Why POF is a waste of time and common Plenty of Fish complaints
In the era when Plenty of Fish was 100% free, it was obviously a lot better, about 15 years ago Plenty of Fish was my top recommended dating website for people involved in the alternative dating lifestyle.
Now, I don’t even mention POF, why? Because POF similar to OkCupid wasn’t designed to be a premium dating service. I began writing about Adult Friend Finder which used to be my favorite adult-themed dating website that was a secret primarily because POF began charging money for services that were once free.
All of a sudden Adult Friend Finder and ALT dating became a better option than POF because we all know about fake members on POF and Plenty of Fish’s automated approach to deleting members its system believes are fake profiles and this truth unfortunately is only one of the reasons POF is so bad now.
Now there are lots of dating APPs out there, but I prefer adult-themed dating websites and a lot of people don’t even remember that POF used to have sections and searches for people looking to hookup.
I wrote about the mistake POF made when it deleted that section. POF deleted it’s the most successful section of its website to appease the Match.com Gods which eventually bought them out and since then things have gone downhill.
Because of its limitations, match.com can’t do what Adult Friend Finder now does which adds adult entertainment friendly sections to their website. Both men and women consume adult entertainment and to completely ignore this as a part of the online dating experience has been a mistake, Swipe left gets boring after a while and if you’ve ever been in a shopping mall you need more than 1 reason to stay in there for a prolonged period of time.
POF has essentially killed itself by becoming bland, automated, and over-priced. It’s time-consuming to sign up, it’s expensive to use and you should expect to be ghosted, POF used to be the champion of success stories, not anymore younger generations know little about it.
I want to point out that Plenty of Fish is NOT a scam, but I no longer recommend it, which hurts me because it used to be my favorite online dating website!
